i agree, naruto hands down, with prolonged fights taking up more episodes that it should, minimal character development, a gay sharingan technique, and with a hint of fillers that really does nothing to enhance the show, i believe it to be highly overrated....but the manga is a tad better

Naruto may not be a great show, but its better than the rest of these mainstream shows in just about every way. Bleach is an absolute cookie-cutter action show with a main character every bit as lame as naruto himself. I have limited experience with FMA only because it seems unwatchable to me. The characters and their concerns are mind-numbing. Soul eater is mostly a comedy i guess? The humour is lost on me, personally. So what does naruto have going for it?
-Some interesting/fun characters like kakashi, rock lee, orochimaru, and at least a lot of diversity among them if nothing else.
-A mediocre story (awesome by comparison to the others).
Downside - too much filler. Still, its an ok watch. I also think bleach is watchable. Although both bore me most of the time, naruto seems like the best of them to me.
